40 Years a poem of Testimony

Dear God, I waited forty years to have you in my heart
It is a shame that it took a crisis to get my start
When I had my wrecks in eighty-one
You kept me alive because I am your son

When I survived my drug addiction in eighty-seven
You kept me alive because I was not ready to go to Heaven
I knew you had a purpose for me,
And now that is plain to see.

In eighty-nine you blessed us with Nichole,
Her soul is as pure as the driven snow.
One thing is for sure, I will always know.
My daughter does nothing but help me grow.

When our son died in ninety-one, I did not understand,
He died for a reason, because it was in your plan.
I asked why? But I did not hear,
Maybe that is why I always had fear.

When our son Taylor died
I cried, cried and cried.
You took him to heaven to be by your side,
I never understood because of my pride.

Now I look back and I know it was meant to be
Another test of strength that came to me.
I did not know at the time that you had carried me
Today as I grow that is easy to see.

I have been pondering coming to you over the years
I know now, why I had so much fear.
You have worked miracles in my life twenty four seven,
I know, pray and stay in the word Go to Heaven.

Lord you called me so many times so many days
I heard you and did not know what to say
Today I know, and I get on my knees and pray
And most of the time I know what to say.

Lord there are times when I feel so blue,
That’s when you send your children to lift me up to you.
God you have lifted the anger away from me,
Everybody looks at me and can’t believe what they see.

No matter what, I could never call your bluff
Everybody knows Lord you have all the right stuff.
I have been through so much but the best is yet to come,
I stay in the word and then some.

Lord I hear you now and I see your power
You sprinkle me with love like a morning shower.
Lord I praise you and give you thanks for everything
Now I belong to the Body Of Christ and worship the King.

God is the Journey

Knowing God is a Journey not a Destination,
So when you pray is there sometimes hesitation?
Sometimes child in your voice I hear you worry,
Trust in me when you pray and don’t get in a hurry.

Patience is a virtue
That is what I have always taught you.
Acknowledge me in all of your ways
And always give me all of your praise

When I walk the earth and look to the sky
I often wonder with a blink of an eye.
If he is really watching or if he is truly here,
It doesn’t really matter because we all know he is near.

When the Lord is in your life everything is grand
Always remember the Lord will help you make a stand.
In you’re time of trouble or time of pain,
God is always there to keep you sane.

There will be days when you feel all is lost
That is when you ask for help at all cost!
I am here for you to seek me out,
Even if it means you have to shout!

I am not leaving you I am always here
Just come to me when you need to share.
I will open my arms and listen in the clouds
And when you are on your knees in silence always be proud.

God you were always there for me I just didn’t know
I have turned my life around and all I do is grow.
You always have the right words to say,
That is why I talk to you every day.

On this journey you can run or walk,
You can be in Silence or even talk.
Is does not matter if you praise me while you sing,
Because no matter what I always hear everything.

Heaven above is mightier than all,
Which makes everything else seem very small.
Stand with me and feel very tall,
Because you know I am your all and all.

Who is this Man

Who is this Man?
He is called the Messiah.
He came to deliver us.
The Son of Man, He is Jesus.

They say You are the King of The Jews.
We know You are the King of all.
That day You felt so small.
But we knew You stood tall.

Your time has come, it is okay to cry.
You knew You were going to die.
You knew You were going to be betrayed.
You were in the garden and You prayed.

You knew what You had to do.
Which was to die for everyone.
No one wanted to help.
Nothing but scars and whelps.

He healed so many at his expense.
He was accused and had no evidence
The truth is all He had for his defense.
Still, He had to suffer the consequence.

They hit You.
And called You names.
Your tears fell like the rain.
How could your people be so insane.

So much dissension.
The crowd had every intention.
The people needed to repent.
But Jesus, did not resent.

They flogged You.
They spit on You.
What could you do?
They knew Your soul was true.

The thorns pierced Your skin.
In addition, you knew you could not win.
You did this for me.
To the cross, You carried my sin.

They drove the spikes through Your wrists
You were in so much pain.
Yet, You did not resist.
This was your destiny.

They slashed You with a whip.
Broke open Your back.
All they did to You was attack.
As Your blood did nothing but drip.

His blood washes away our sin.
His blood did not go to waste.
His tears dripped from his chin
Jesus searched his soul deep with in.

Jesus, they could not keep You down.
God took away Your frown.
You rose in three days.
Jesus, thank You for giving Your life away

The Sky's the Limit

The sky’s the Limit, Heavens the Place
This is where you go to receive God's grace
God loves your soul and he lives in heart,
Praise the Lord and you will never be apart.

Seek God when times are good or bad,
Even when you feel very sad.
He will lift you up and let you cry,
This is when you raise your hands to the Sky

Worship the Lord our God in every way,
That is how he always hears what you have to say
This is why it is so important to pray,
Through all eternity everyday!

The Lord our God is the father of everything,
This is why we praise the Lord when we sing!
God only knows what the future will bring,
Only God’s will can provide us with everything.

When you worry about what you fear,
Turn your will over to God and he will hear.
The words that we speak that come from the heart,
They praise the Lord our God from the start.

I see you in so much pain and despair,
Look to me I am always there.
When our hearts are heavy and we look up to you,
You say my precious child I will save you.

When we get on our knees that’s how we start,
We look to the Heavens and pray with all our hearts
Sometimes I pray to God and I don’t know what to say,
I sit there in silence and he hears me anyway.

Sometimes we feel unworthy but we know you are there,
That is why we always look to you in prayer.
The time is now raise your hands above your head,
That’s when God says there is never enough said.

We ask the Lord to heal our Heart,
He takes his love and surrounds every part.
I lift my eyes to the Lord and see
Everything that he has done for me.
